The Home Renovation Tax Credit (HRTC) is available for:

• A family to claim a 15% non-refundable tax credit for eligible expenditures made in respect to eligible dwellings.
• The credit will apply to expenditures in excess of $1,000, but not more than $10,000 resulting in a maximum credit of $1,350 (for example: $9,000 x 15%).
• Work and goods purchased have to be after January 27, 2009 and before February 1, 2010.

Check in the CRA website link below for details of eligible expenditures such as:

-Renovating your kitchen, bathroom or basements,         painting  etc.        
-Laying sod, planting trees/shrubs,
-Installing retrofits like wheelchair ramps
-Labour costs
-Documentation of expenses is required
